What is the meaning of YALY?Ialy Waterfall at the boundary of Ya Ly commune, Kon Tum province and Gia Lai province, in Central Highlands. An hydroelectric project is associated with Yaly waterfall - one of the largest waterfalls in Vietnam with a height of up to 42 meters. Visitors can visit Yaly waterfall to admire the poetic and lyrical landscape. Although there are many different ways of naming, the most common one is Yaly. It is explained by a legend about the tragic love story of a Jrai couple, a Roc and a H'Li. Yali means "tears of H'Li" who died because of crying for her lover who did not return, her tears flowed into a waterfall.

The most popular food of the festival is banh chung (banh têt), which is made of sweet sticky rice, meat or beans, and spices wrapped in banana leaf and boiled for half a day. The legend is that this delicacy was invented over two thousand years ago by a prince of the Hung dynasty and the king was so impressed by the simplicity and humbleness of this gift that he named the prince as his heir.
Traditionally for the Tet celebration, Vietnamese women would wear the áo dài and now there is a kind of revival of that tradition.

The entire region was been battered by torrential downpours since 13th October after a cold spell came in contact with tropical turbulences. The turbulence intensified into storm Linfa, which made landfall on Sunday over the provinces of Quang Ngai and Quang Nam, the latter home to Hoi An.
Hoi An as usual cleaned up the mud after severe flooding with people helping each other.
We pray for Central Vietnam.
All our thoughts go to the families and children who are dealing with difficult circumstances.
